![]() ![]() ![]() Whomever designed this fountain could have - should have - taken a few minutes to do it right. I had to take it apart and reassemble it several times before it worked right, and all because of a lazy designer. It was frustrating and messy, with water ending up all over my floor. I started to think you needed an engineering degree to set this up. Now I understand why the reviews are split. This is a great product - Stella and Layla approved!! I recommend this to anyone trying to get a little more liquid in their kitties. It holds lots of water, and the basin and trickling "waterfall" feature cater to a kitties different moods. Third, I'm really happy to see how much more water my girls are drinking! This is a great fountain, easy to assemble, clean, and take apart. I've bought a few of this model and everyone is happy. I like this feature because my kitten is very active and attracted to noisy things, and my adult cat prefers something a bit more gentle. There's a slider on the pump to adjust the gusto of the "waterfall" to your cats taste. Second some folks note that the stream is weak. So keep the bowl full and you'll be fine. Anyone that has had fish knows you need to keep it full. Reading the reviews gave me trepidation but I went ahead because I trust my brother and his cat is super fussy.įirst of all, I don't know what the other people are doing to burn out the motors on the pump. I ordered this at the recommendation of my brother, to help with a kitten who has developed some urinary issues. Once the parts are clean you can reassemble the motor for use by replacing the impeller, stator and cover plate. To remove the impeller, use a fingernail to get under a blade and lift it out. Once the stator is removed you can also remove the impeller (three bladed propeller) which is held in place magnetically.Remove the stator by placing your finger nail under the small lip located on the narrow side of the tear drop shaped stator and pull out.It may be necessary to insert a fingernail into the seam of the inlet plate to pry it open. Once the motor is out of the fountain, with your thumb and forefinger, gently squeeze on either side of the intake plate, and pull off.A small amount of force may be necessary. Suction cups on the bottom of the motor will hold it in place. Gently lift the motor out of the cavity of pump housing.Remove the top cover of the pump housing and set aside.Unplug the power cord from the transformer. ![]() Remove the top bowl from the lower bowl.Cleaning the pump is essential to the longevity of the fountain as well as the cleanliness of the water. ![]()
