This was the case regardless of which combination of parts I used, Rugged or SiCo piston or piston end cap.įrom online, the SiCo spacer length is 1.24". Even fully tightened in the Omega, the piston still had noticeable movement. 3 Lug Griffin mount and old SiCo 3 lug mount. I own a Rugged Obsidian 9, Omega 45k and Octane 45. Here is the fundamental issue which I discovered when making my own fixed barrel spacer. A warning on there website to give me a heads up about what I was getting into would have been appreciated. Also note, there is nothing on there website about there part being HK spec and it may not work on "non-HK spec". This is a warning that if you use an after market 3 lug or barrel, there mount may not fit and they will not help with it. I still have the other can to shoot suppressed. One thing i did not tell the agent is that I am not shaving the 3 lug because my other can would then be loose.Īt this point I have to decide if i am bailing on the 3 lug mount or paying to have a machine shop make it fit. I replied back and advised the agent that I was not using a 3 lug adapter and it was a 3 lug barrel that came with the gun from the factory. I was informed at that point that they use HK specs and that my adapter must be to big or the coating to thick and I should look at having coating removed or shave the lugs on my adapter. I replied back to the agent and was basically told in a polite way that I had to resolve this myself. I received my new cap and was still having the same issue. The CS agent thought maybe the cap to the 3 lug mount was not in spec, I had a pic were I removed the cap and tried to put it on the gun by itself, it would not clear the lugs. I also notified him that I have a can from another manufacture and that other can fits fine on the 3 lug. I had a few back and forth emails and even supplied some pictures of what was going on. I contacted Rugged and started working with one of there CS agents. I was a bit let down when the 3 lug mount did not fit my gun. I purchased there 3 lug mount to be able to run it on my MP5 clone. and a few weeks ago was thrilled to get the email from my dealer telling me I could take my Obsidian home.
